Watching “The 100 Greatest Cartoons” on Channel 4 in Karl and Michael’s this evening I was inspired to finally legalise my Futurama collection and buy the DVDs. €89.99 seems like a good price. €9 more expensive than the GBP price for some unscrupulous reason, but I’m not sure of any place that I’d find it cheaper. Do you know of any where? I also can’t seem to find out if the complete collection includes the audio commentaries. If you have the box set could you let me know? Thanks.
I’ve got quite a sore throat and feel a bit poorly. Not sure if I’ll make it to work tomorrow considering I’ve not felt so well recently.
[ Update ]
The answer to the Futurama question is that the complete box set simply contains the previous 4 season’s box sets in one larger box, so, they’re exactly the same.

Today’s fun fact:
Paris Hilton’s Sidekick account was broken in to because the password reset security question on the T-Mobile Sidekick site is… *drumroll* “What is your pets name?”. If that doesn’t ring any bells, that infamous trollop’s pet dog a chihuahua, is quite well known, as is its name “Tinkerbell”
I find that a piece of blissfully hilarious inane trivia.
Made an order this afternoon from SAGE for work and stressed it was urgent. The sales guy said that if he made the last order processing of the day we should have it by tomorrow. Who should meet my boss as he was leaving the office this evening? The sales guy with the ordered product and an apology that he didn’t make the last order of the day so he delivered it by hand. Talk about going the last mile. It wasn’t even a big order. I’m quite stunned but very pleased.
Mackers is back from his South American trip. He somehow found time to document the trip in a very eloquent manner, words start here, pictures start here. I thought this picture was my favourite holiday photo of all time, and surely worthy of recognition, until I saw this one. I hope he will soon regail us with tales of how he and his beloved torch fended off wild boars, golden condors and El Chupacabra with little other than the promise of white pudding, Guinness and a shave waiting for him at home to keep him going.
Tomorrow is Karl’s birthday. He will be old o’clock years. We’re all going to the Market Bar after work. You should come too.
Palm T3 + WiFi SD Card + Wiffi = (very inconspicuous) WarWalking
Went WarWalking this evening and found 21 access points between my house and the cinema, including my previous place of work. It was one of only 5 using WEP.
Unfortunately Wiffi currently lacks the ability to export results but that is being worked on.
This evening I was supposed to go to a Zod gig in Crawdaddy with a some friends. One bailed cause he’s a weakling. The other two I couldn’t get in touch with to confirm if there were going or were there already. I went to the venue and stood outside for a while hoping I could contact either of them as I didn’t particularly fancy spending €12 for a night on my own.
In the 25 minutes I was waiting outside, the bouncer that kept throwing me the eye probably thought I was dealing.
Hilights included;
- Saw two very white, working class guys wearing comical bling, including large encrusted crucifixes, attempt to jump a railing to sneak into the redbox.
- Saw a drunk guy walk not one foot away from the front of an about-to-depart luas.
- Was shocked at the lack of clothes that girls wear, it’s 2 degrees tonight. One girls entire bum was on display as her skirt-belt blew up in the wind. Walked past she saw me looking at her she asked probably her boyfriend to hold her hand, ’cause, yeah, that makes you less of a slapper.
- Gave a polite homeless guy a large handful of change, mostly coppers.
- Saw three people attempt to scam their way into a €25 gig in the redbox by tattooing the door stamp onto the back of their hands in biro and hear them tell their diabolical plan to a friend over the phone.
- Gave some guys directions to the pod, which they were standing outside.
- Gave a cute girl from eastern Europe directions to the redbox, which she was standing across the street from.
When I could no longer feel my hands and my other fringe limbs I elected to go home and spend the rest of the night with my IRC friends.
Still, at least I got an interesting blog entry out of the evening.
I… what? Oh.

Finally heard from one of the guys to tell me it wasn’t even in Crawdaddy and that he didn’t go anyway. [I|We|He] [am|are|is] [a] dinkus[es].
A tutorial for Mums and Dads from Microsoft on how to understand your children’s “leetspeak” (looks like the Microsoft article “borrows” from the WikiPedia entry, or they share an unattributed source). Words like “pwned” (I particularly like that first entry with maddox), “w00t” and who could forget “j00“, feature.

in food.
I’m not sure that this will excite any one else. Purveyors of fine natural foods Holland and Barrett have opened a new store on Grafton Street. It’s much larger than their cramped Stephen’s Green Centre store.
As it is I spend quite a bit of money in their small store but find the single-person aisles, occupied by the tottery old women that one finds in health shops, annoying. So, this development both pleases me and worries my cash-flow.

I’m a big fan of the CSI shows, although they do get to quite formulaic and easy to figure out with exposure.
Celebrity blogger and former Star Trek:TNG star Wil Wheaton is currently filming an episode where he gets to play a crazy homeless suspect guy. He’s been blogging the experience and taking some photos.
Last night my telephone, land line, rang at 12:55am. No one knows my telephone number, I have to check my phone bill whenever I need to know it. So I just picked it up and put it back down again. My phone is right beside my bed and being woken suddenly by the jarring ring was very disturbing and I found it difficult to get back to sleep.
I never use that phone so why I have it plugged in is a mystery. I disconnected it when I came home this evening. A few weekends ago it rang early in the morning and a voice said “Eagle Security Checking in” to which I replied “ok” and hung up.
Last weekend I bought the first 6 (makes me one shy of a complete collection) of Milk & Cheese. Fun fact kids; Evan Dorkin of Milk & Cheese fame, and his parnter in crime Sarah Dyer, wrote some Space Ghost episodes! The issues are in amazing condition for second hand and I feel a little guilty reading them for that reason. Similarly, I bought 4 Ghost in the Shell figures which I am very reluctant to remove from their packaging.
